A similar measure by Rep. Nathan Deal (R.-GA.) was offered in the House Energy and Commerce committee to provide verification requirements to prevent illegal aliens from receiving Medicaid benefits. By a recorded vote of 28 - 29, the measure was not agreed to on July 18th.
