Regarding the 1986 Immigration and Reform Control Act (the first amnesty of illegal immigrants), Senator Kennedy predicted:

He has been lying for years... why stop now!!! Vote this man out of office... he isn't above our laws!! We don't need to change the laws to allow amnesty...WE NEED TO ENFORCE OUR LAWS!!!!

The American public is repeatedly lied to by our "trusted" government officials. The 1986 Amnesty promised:

1. BACKGROUND CHECKS-which, due to the unexpected large number of applicants and cost involved in sorting thru false documents, was a joke. These people instantly began sending for every relative to come here.
2. WORKPLACE ENFORCEMENT- we all know how well that works. A simple E-VERIFY system has been available for years but Congress will not make employers use it.
3. BORDER ENFORCEMENT-Never seriously attempted. That is why we have the mess we have now.
4. ONE TIME AMNESTY- to bring the undocumented out of the shadows.

The Democratic AMNESTY proposals are careful not to limit the numbers to say, 12 million. I truly expect 40 million, due to the fact that many will use duplicate employment records or whatever is required. The illegal aliens have proven to be adept at forging documents. As soon as an AMNESTY is announced--the flood gates will open and a tidal wave like we have never seen will sweep across America.

Keep in mind that not all illegals are hard workers from Mexico. Many are from countries seeking to do us harm. They can provide the same false documents to qualify.

My biggest doubt about any amnesty is about a continuing illegal immigration problem. The Democrats and Republicans need to PROVE THEY CAN AND WILL stop illegal immigration. Rewarding these law breakers with any form of legal status only encourages more to come.

Why would anyone bother to apply to come here legally, when the illegal way is so much easier?

This wasn't the first amnesty of IA's. It had been going on for MANY years. In the 50's, the idiot senator from MASS also led the way in the fight for that amnesty!!!! There have been (9) shamnesty's since then.
