Well why wouldn't we send their criminals back to them? It is NOT OUR PROBLEM! What about the problems ILLEGAL ALIENS are causing US!

Deports Record Number of Caribbean Nationals

Kingston, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) Putting a strain on Caribbean governments, the United States has augmented deportation of Caribbean immigrants nabbed in increased raids across the US, the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) reports Monday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in Florida, said since the start of the year, many Caribbean nationals were among the 1,617 immigrants deported.

In March, Guyana said it had received 343 deportees from the United States in 2004.

ICE officers said the raids were aimed at promoting "public safety and national security by ensuring all aliens who are subject to deportation are removed as expeditiously as possible".

However, Cubans who illegally sneak into US territory get shelter and ultimately residence.

In deporting Caribbean nationals, US authorities argue they are raided and detained for violations ranging from being in the country illegally, to ignoring deportation orders, to re-entering the country illegally after deportation.

Last month, Trinidad and Tobago´s Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, called for a regional approach to dealing with the issue, CMC recalls.

Manning, who has responsibility for regional security in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), said there was need to revisit the premise for negotiations with the deporting countries.

In Jamaica, law enforcement authorities are blaming the "new face of crime" on increased deportation from the U.S.

CNC quotes Lieutenant Clyde Walker, the Chief Immigration Officer of Antigua and Barbuda, as saying US deportees are wreaking havoc in the country.

"US deportees to Antigua and Barbuda are causing serious problems for law enforcement officials in the country," said Walker, a former commander of the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force.
