Oh so at tax payers expense, there wanting to aid, illegals. I guess Judicial Watch, might just need to be informed if there not already.

"You are not supposed to aid and abet illegal aliens," Marciano added. "They have no documents. They could give you any name. They could go and get 15 different ID cards with different names. How would you know?"
Immigrant-advocates say the population badly needs a form of ID but fear federal immigration officials could easily use the information to round up illegals living here peacefully.
"Certainly, there is no obligation by anyone to accept the municipal ID, but I hope the idea will have some teeth in it," she said.http://www.alipac.us Enforce immigration laws!

There is clearly a court case and an opportunity for opposing candidates against the diStefano forces at the New Haven Mayor and Connecticut Gubernatorial levels.
Illegal aliens do not vote most legal aliens also do not vote. Those immigrants who are able to vote are less likely to do so than does the general population.
Illegal aliens cost more money in benefits than they pay in taxes, legal Hispanic immgrants also as a group cost more in benefits than they pay in taxes. This is a result of more coming in under family reunification than under skills categories.
Did anyone from the citizen side bother to show up in order to refute the illegal aliens and supporters at the New Haven town hearing?I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. A news station called me for a comment about this today. I said that "aiding and abetting illegal aliens is a felony and we will have the Mayor charged if necessary."

CA Prop 187 was ruled unconstitutional supposedly because it usurped the Federal government's delegated constitutional power to regulate immigration. Don't these city ID programs more directly usurp that power because the cities are in fact granting a form of legitimate status on illegal aliens and only the federal government can constitutionally do that? Why is handing out goodies specifically to illegal aliens not a violation of the Constitution, but withholding benefits specifically to illegal aliens is a violation of the Constitution?

There should be no discussion of the need for illegals, that they are hard working, that our economy depends on them, etc. etc. etc.
Let's face it. Our economy depends to a significant degree on illegal DRUGS, but that does not stop States and the Federal government from prosecuting a person or ruining their reality for things like simple possession. glenn
