Lou Dobbs Tonight
Thursday, June 26, 2008

Tonight, the Supreme Court ruled today that a handgun ban
imposed by Washington D.C. is a violation of the Second
Amendment. We’ll have complete coverage of this victory for
common sense and the Constitution. Plus:

* Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 160
employees of a Houston clothing plant Wednesday. Earlier this
week, a five-day operation ended with the apprehension of 44
arrests in Nebraska, and more than half of the illegal aliens
were fugitives with previous convictions. ICE has arrested
nearly 23,000 immigration fugitives since October 2007, but the
crackdown continues to draw outrage from amnesty and open
borders groups.

* The Pentagon has serious problems balancing its books,
staying on budget for major projects and keeping track of its
inventories. The General Accountability Office has identified
$295 billion in cost overruns on Pentagon programs. A big part
of the problem is former military leaders who move to lucrative
private-sector jobs with defense contractors; those contractors
continue to rake in big performance bonuses despite their
failure to fulfill their contracts. We’ll take a look at the
Pentagon’s costly revolving door.

* Private companies and farmers are using technology to track
their fruits and vegetables right down to the field, row and
even tree they were grown. Why is the federal government so
slow to create and demand such measures?

* Nielsen continues to hand American jobs over to workers from
an Indian outsourcing company. The company says the actions are
necessary to remain globally competitive and meet the demands
of clients. Now Florida’s Congressional delegation is getting
involved.
