Many of the citizens of this country are spineless. We have had political correctness rammed down our throats until we are chocking on it.
I think that it's more the "rammed down our throats" than the "spineless." There's a coalition of employers, nose counting politicians, and illegal alien advocates which is very difficult to overcome. (There's a separate thread going re media people not calling llegals "illegals." ) This coalition has created false expectations and a false economy. Employers hire illegals, to save money and get a docile workforce. Politicans pander to illegals, to get control of Congress. Illegals' advocates exploit these two. When illegals see that money and power are on their side, they quite naturally develop a sense of entitlement.

The false economy sustains illegals, but undercuts Americans. Employers do save money, but Americans can't get jobs. That results in unstable families, unstable communities, and a pervasive sense that the American government no longer works for the American people.

Some of the more vocal illegals and their advocates do provide grist for our mill, and Republicans seem to be getting the message, but I haven't see any sign that Democrats have a clue about why they were clobbered in the Congressional elections. So I expect that 'Bama and the 'Crats will be looking for a new opportunity to let illegals know that this administration is very much on their side.

BTW in an earlier thread Gutierrez was quoted as saying that his only loyalty is to the immigrant community.

    Good point.

Apathetic may have been a better description. The attitude of 98% of law abiding American is "live and let live", but that attitude is now biting us in our derrieres, and pocketbooks. In our wildest dreams, none of us thought that the illegal alien problem staring us in the face could escalate to where it is today.. We are suppose to be a nation of laws and we have taken that fact for granted We didn't just let this happen, for the most part, unfortunately most of us just apathetically sat back and watched it happen. Oh yes, there have been some noble attempts to slow it down, but we have been double crossed by both liberals and conservatives. For the most part, up until just recently both political parties have been spineless. The conservatives who now control the house, hopefully, are finally aware that their seats in 2012 will be in serious jeopardy if they don't act swiftly and surely to protect our national security.

There is a post on another thread on Alipac about Gutierrez and his sinister Chicago connections. It is very, very revealing.....like connecting dots.

I wouldlove to see them try and riot in sheriff Joe's county. Hope they like pink!.... Joe wouldhave em cuffed and on the bus for the border in his lockup in no time at all. Sorry...no tacos...only balogna sandwiches. These students are being taugh they have the right to fight for amnisty. They actuallyhave one right...the right to deportation trial and final deportation. California is going to feel the results of their pandering to the latino community when they riot and the feds sit back and let the enforcement bill roll up in that state.

You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson
