Eight arrested in probe of motorcycle theft rings

SAN DIEGO – An undercover investigation into motorcycle theft rings operating on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border culminated Friday with the arrest of eight people, authorities announced.
Investigators from the San Diego County Regional Auto Theft Task Force served four search warrants Friday and arrested the eight suspects on accusations ranging from auto theft to evading police to insurance fraud.

They were booked into county jail on bail ranging from $15,000 to $1 million.

The suspects, from Chula Vista and San Diego, are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in San Diego Superior Court.
