Eight asylum seekers found in a coma hidden in a bus

Eight asylums seekers were discovered in a coma in a bus in sweltering 32°C temperatures.

Police in Bulgaria were called to a report of an abandoned vehicle on a motorway, in the direction of the capital Sofia, with the driver nowhere in sight.

At least 30 people, all men, were found crammed in the bus, with almost a third of them in serious condition.

Footage shared online shows several of them laying on the boiling hot asphalt at about 9.30am on Monday while officers searched them.

According to local reports, eight of them were rushed to hospital in a ‘comatose state’ with ‘deteriorated vital functions’.

All of them received urgent medical attention and are now believed to be out of danger.

Their identities and the countries of origin are still being determined, the Ministry of the Interior said.

Also on Monday, another bus, carrying eight migrants, believed to be from Syria, crashed into a tree near the southeastern town of Yambol.

All men – aged between 25 and 30 – were taken to hospital for checks.

This is the latest such incident in the Balkan nation as it struggles with the rise in illicit border crossings.

In February, Bulgarian police found 18 people who had died in an abandoned truck, one of the deadliest people smuggling incidents in the country.

They had all suffocated while hiding from authorities under ‘piles of wood’.

The EU-member state, which serves as a gateway into the bloc, has been trying to tighten security to stop the number of people seeking to cross the border.

Stop pushing the narrative they are looking "for a better life" and "seeking asylum" adding fuel to the fire of this massive death and destruction across the world costing us billions of our tax dollars.
