El Paso Hospital on Lock Down due to Border Violence
    July 13, 2008

EL PASO, Texas -Fox News has reported Thomason hospital was under maximum security Saturday as another wounded Mexican police officer crossed the border into the U.S. for treatment. Hospital officials said they were on high alert.

"We placed the campus on maximum security alert, which is the red level, after conferring with other law enforcement agencies," said James Vilenti, Thomason hospital's president and CEO.

He also said Thomason will start using the Homeland Security scale to asses the threat level at the hospital. For visitors, that meant entering and leaving from the emergency entrance. All other doors were locked."

This is the third lock-down, due to Border Violence, that has been on the steady increase. Mexican Drug Cartels and other organized crime runs rampant along our border with heavily armed, and well organized thugs of destruction. Our own US Federal Governement seems to be asleep at the wheel, and have even pulled the National Guard, leaving a more porous border. Our border is being ravaged with our ranches, towns and cities taking the hits, with killings and increased crime (kidnappings, beheadings, rapes, murders)

Thomason is licensed by the State of Texas, non-profit and accredited by the Joint Commission. Since the early 1990s, the White House has designated Thomason as the hospital where the President, Vice President and former Presidents of the United States will be treated should they require medical care while traveling in the region. So one would think our elected representatives would notice this.

Why then is this happening? From our perspective at Right Side News, it would seem the inaction on border violence by the Executive and Legislative Branch of the United States is more than careless, but negligent as the threat to our country increases by the day.

News organizations, grassroots movements, blogs and a growing American populace are crying for help, but these cries fall on deaf ears within the belt way of Washington, D. C. They offer no response and they pass no legislation to Secure Our Homeland.

Great medical facilities such as Thomason are "at risk". If our own representatives will not help us, we need to replace them this fall through the election process. Thomason is to be commended for their fine work. Even the board members of Thomason are not paid, but work on behalf of their community. I wish we could say the same for our representatives in Washington, D. C. Right now, they are neglecting their assigned responsibilities and their oath of office. Let us find some good Americans that can carry to ball down the field.

Thomason is overseen by a seven-member panel called the Board of Managers. They are appointed to their posts by El Paso's County Judge and Commissioners to be policy setters for Thomason and its outpatient facilities. They are also responsible for hiring the hospital's Chief Executive Officer. Board members serve two-year terms and are not paid for the work they do on behalf of the county hospital. Again, hats off to these fine Americans, and I wonder who they are going to vote for in November, and are they as frustrated as you and I?

    Thomason Hospital ends latest lockdown

Thomason Hospital ended its third lock-down at 1:45 p.m. today following a weekend of heightened security meant to protect staff and patients from potential retaliation to patients wounded during the drug war in Juárez.

A spokeswoman for Thomason said local law enforcement assessed the security situation at the hospital and allowed staff to downgrade its status to the low, or green, classification.

A Mexican police officer with multiple gunshot wounds, apparently another victim of the ongoing drug war in Juárez, was taken Friday night by ambulance from one of the ports of entry to Thomason Hospital's Level 1 Trauma Center.

Hospital executives and other elected officials are asking the federal government to help curb the emerging trend of letting people wounded during the drug war cross the border for treatment and protection.

So we are going to put the lives of American citizens in danger to treat mexican cops ( who are probably corrupted anyway) because they are fighting a drug war in THEIR country! I'm not even going bother asking who's paying for the additional security and medical treatment mexican cops are receiving.

I wish Bush loved the United States as much as he loves mexico.
