    Report: Over 100,000 deportees had US children

    WASHINGTON — A new report says immigration officials deported more than 100,000 parents of U.S. citizen children over a decade.

    The parents were deported between 1998 and 2007 for immigration violations or because they had committed a crime. The report by the Homeland Security Department's inspector general says immigration officials carried out about 2.2 million removals in the same period.
    New York Democratic Rep. Jose Serrano asked for the investigation.

    I'm still not sold they were American citizens......still waiting on real verification, not on what they say it means.

    2.2 million removed, only 100,000 of which have US born children.

    Kinda pokes a big ol' hole in the argument that gazillions of "immigrants" are being seperated from the kiddies

    I'm not sold either. Unless they have a parent who was a US citizen at the time of their birth, they aren't US citizens born on US soil, subject to the jurisdiction thereof."

    Sooo what is the point of this inquiry ?

    I am surprised and not happy it was not more.The parents knowingly broke the law so what are we suppose to do forgive them because they produced illegitimate ANCHOR Babies at OUR expense in most cases ?

    The parents weren't citizens, the kids were anchor baby citizens, is what it says.
    I know that, but unless something escaped me, I thought Texas put that up for the Supreme Court to decide and I didn't think they got around to it yet. Till they do and clarify it, then we're stuck till we can do something like other countries have and ammend it once and for all and tighten up that "loophole".

    Over a century ago, the Supreme Court correctly confirmed this restricted interpretation of citizenship in the so-called 'Slaughter-House cases' [83 US 36 (1873)] and in [112 US 94 (1884)].

    In Elk v.Wilkins, the phrase 'subject to its jurisdiction' excluded from its operation 'children of ministers, consuls, and citizens of foreign states born within the United States.' In Elk, the American Indian claimant was considered not an American citizen because the law required him to be 'not merely subject in some respect or degree to the jurisdiction of the United States, but completely subject to their political jurisdiction and owing them direct and immediate allegiance.'

    Congress subsequently passed a special act to grant full citizenship to American Indians, who were not citizens even through they were born within the borders of the United States. The Citizens Act of 1924, codified in 8USCSß1401, provides that:

    The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth:
    (a) a person born in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof;
    (b) a person born in the United States to a member of an Indian, Eskimo, Aleutian, or other aboriginal tribe.

    American citizens must be wary of elected politicians voting to illegally extend our generous social benefits to illegal aliens and other criminals.

    Even if the Supreme Court stops the Anchor Baby Citizenship for future babies they will never rescind the millions of anchor baby citizenships that already exist. We are stuck with them.
