The next question I would ask is "How widespread would Democrat led governments tip into bankruptcy?

I was astounded when the very liberal King County (Seattle, WA) area VOTERS approved a $54 billion plan for local area transit---not high speed rail. Even liberal voters tend to weigh against excessive tax measures---and our area has voted down infinitesimally small projects compared to this one, while the officials plowed ahead regardless---but in this case the people themselves decided to inflict this upon them. Although they were effectively coached to approve the measure by the transit agency.

So, if the public is approving the spending of such humongous sums---and who knows what else they may be coaxed to vote for---they either are super smart investors, or the government is headed over a cliff! Maybe this particular project will get stalled. But what about the spending that is guaranteed and/or protected by the courts? Many areas are facing that now in public employee pensions. What about other stuff that gets approved and then they have to make good on it? I guess inflation could be one answer. Maybe not a very good one.
