As Arizona last week unveiled the nation’s most restrictive set of immigration laws, local lawmakers chimed in on the benefits of keeping a tighter border.

Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Carlsbad, suggested that the law — which authorizes police to demand identification from anyone they suspect may have entered the country illegally — wouldn’t involve ethnic profiling since there are other ways of identifying border jumpers, such as “the kind of dress … right down to the shoes.â€

Why do states pay their universities to do studies that lie about the impact of both legal and illegal immigration on the welfare of the US citizens? Do they really think Americans living the truth are going to believe it? No, they aren't.

When San Diego is booming other areas of our country are faltering for many reasons that are just the normal ebb and flow of regions and cities and industries. When San Diego needs workers it needs to be calling Detroit or Los Angeles or New York or St. Louis and recruiting American Workers who may need to relocate to find the job.

Instead, they call their international labor broker and bring in immigrants to do these jobs instead of seeking out Americans in other areas of the country who would love to live in San Diego and work in a factory or a service industry, but they never learn about the job, because it's snarfed up by illegal immigrants and legal immigrants before they even got the chance to consider the new opportunity.

That is wrong. It's UnAmerican. And it's pure evil overpopulating our country and leaving Americans trapped in poverty hooked on government services we can no longer afford to support.

Illegal aliens have to be deported and many of these legal immigrant visas are going to have to expire without renewal and some of these green card holders are going to have to revoked.

Anyone in the country can look for jobs in other cites, other states and even other countries right from their computer.

If they don't have a computer they can go to most libraries and use a computer for free.

Most companies accept resumes by e-mail or fax

Yes, of course they can. But most of the time the jobs are already filled and the advertising was just a 30 days ad that the employers don't reply to when people respond to meet Affirmative Action guidelines. They already filled the jobs with illegal aliens or visa workers, all arranged, all networked, a total and complete sell-out of the American Worker. Obviously not all employers are doing this. Not all employers hire illegal aliens or even legal immigrants. But those who do, don't hire Americans faxing or emailing their resumes in response to the AA obligatory ads.

In a Fox TV interview, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista, suggested that the Arizona debate has a lot to do with jobs.

Issa complained that under current practices, “we bring in people without skills to stay here permanently. And then we bring in people illegally to do the jobs that probably the people without skills should be doing.â€

This is true, but essentially meaningless for those Americans who are most in need of assistance with getting a job. Part of the problem is the one which Judy mentioned - illegals get jobs without any listings. Ultimately we'll have to accept that young people who've been kept out of workforce and who come from homes where the adults - and particularly the men - have been kept out of the workforce need help with using available resources.

The alternative is to continue to bear the social and economic costs of incarcerating them and building up police forces, to control them. IMO that's both idiotic and immoral.

Judy, Mexico's policy re illegals, from Wikipedia:

In the first six months of 2005 alone, more than 120,000 people from Central America have been deported to their countries of origin. This is a significantly higher rate than in 2002, when for the entire year, only 130,000 people were deported [15]. Another important group of people are those of Chinese origin, who pay about $5,500 to smugglers to be taken to Mexico from Hong Kong. It is estimated that 2.4% of rejections for work permits in Mexico correspond to Chinese citizens [16]. Many women from Eastern Europe, Asia, and Central and South America are also offered jobs at table dance establishments in large cities throughout the country causing the National Institute of Migration (INM) in Mexico to raid strip clubs and deport foreigners who work without the proper documentation [17]. In 2004, the INM deported 188,000 people at a cost of $10 million [18]. Illegal immigration of Cubans through Cancún tripled from 2004 to 2006. [19]

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_immigration#Mexico

Why does the government of Mexico insist on deporting illegals? I mean, those folks are probably just doing jobs that Mexicans won't do, or doing them for less than employers would have to pay a citizen of Mexico. Could it be that the government of Mexico is serious about reserving Mexican jobs for Mexican workers? Any thoughts?
