    Trouble on the Texas border

    Trouble on the Texas border
    Sunday, Jun 3, 2007

    By David Sanders

Texas' border with Mexico, more than 1,200 miles, renders the Lone Star State the front line in the battle to control illegal immigration. For Texas officials, waiting on Washington to come up with a comprehensive solution is not an option.

Concern over illegal immigration and border security directly correlates with proximity. There are times when my eyes glaze over from the constant harping about how illegal aliens in Arkansas are taxing the social safety net, putting strains on public resources and causing a decline in property values. But, in Texas, the problems are more severe.

Violent crime committed by those who cross the border illegally is a harsh reality. According to the Texas governor's office, incidents of home invasion, extortion, torture, kidnapping and murder have increased in areas near the border and in cities like Houston, which has suffered dramatic increases in rapes and murders.

The threat is not from those who cross the border looking for work or a better way of life. Instead, Texas faces a more organized threat. Mexico's numerous criminal organizations dominate the production, transportation, and distribution of illegal drugs. Their reach extends into human trafficking, where smuggling one person into the United States can fetch a hefty sum, ranging from $1,500 to $50,000.

Texas officials know that the international gang MS-13 "works for and with Mexican organized crime to conduct enforcement operations on both sides of the border," according to a document provided by the Texas governor's office. It is estimated that the gang has 9,000 members in the U.S. illegally.

The Los Zetas are former Mexican commandos, who, after working for years to stop the drug trade for the Mexican government, now work for the drug cartels. According to state officials, the Zetas are active along the border and have been linked to numerous murders and kidnappings in the area.

Like the Zetas, the Kaibiles, the Guatemalan counter-insurgency group, have turned their attention to protecting organized crime along the porous Texas-Mexico border. The Texas Syndicate and Mexican Mafia are prison gangs working within the Texas penal system and in concert with other Mexican criminal organizations.

Larger, more organized criminal groups are hardly Texas' only concern. Foreign criminals acting alone or in small groups also have prompted attention from state officials. The enormous capacity for human smuggling is a "real concern." Texas officials fear the border may serve as a gateway for terrorist operatives and weapons of mass destruction to enter the country undetected.

Of the 135,035 illegal aliens apprehended in Texas in fiscal 2004 who were not of Mexican descent, 264 were "special interest aliens" or individuals from countries with known ties to terrorist organizations. The numbers were similar for fiscal 2005.

What is a real threat for Texas and other border states is a real threat for the rest of the country. Washington is paralyzed. The White House and key players in the U.S. Senate are myopically focused on granting amnesty to the estimated 12 million illegal aliens who are currently in the country.

The focus should be on sealing the border to stem the tide of illegal aliens and stop criminal elements.

S1348 does not have any interior enforcement only enforcement at the border.

If local law enforcement officers could get them deported, when they come in contact with these criminals, then we would be much better off.

I say that someone in Washington is benefiting from these cartels. If NO ONE in Washington was benefiting, this border would see the military of both countries squashing the cartels. Even though they aren't patroling the border in order not to impeded on the illegal immigration taking place, the cartels and gangs represent a very violent threat to the US, especially with those who have ties to al-Qaida. These Washington traitors are risking our saftey for more cheap labor than what they know what to do with. This is why I think that they don't care about the next attack..they will simply implement Martial Law and usher in the NAU. My guess is that even though it seems that they are stopping some threats like the Ft. Dix and the airport gas lines, they are just waiting for the right time to let one of these happen, in my honest opinion. Why else would they not secure the border from these threats, let alone illegal immigration?

It wigs me out to hear people in law enforcement start in with the malarkey they are spewing now.

They have split up the illegal invaders into criminals and non?criminals.

What is that all about. Are we going to now have criminal and non?criminal bank robbers?

How about criminal and non?criminal Mother rapers. Father stabbers. Father
rapers! Father rapers sitting right there on the bench next to me! And
they was mean and nasty and ugly and horrible crime-type guys sitting on the
bench next to me. And the meanest, ugliest, nastiest one, the meanest
father raper of them all, was coming over to me and he was mean 'n' ugly
'n' nasty 'n' horrible and all kind of things and he sat down next to me
and said, "Kid, whad'ya get?" I said, "I didn't get nothing, I had to pay
$50 and pick up the garbage." He said, "What were you arrested for, kid?"
And I said, "Littering." And they all moved away from me on the bench
there, and the hairy eyeball and all kinds of mean nasty things, till I
said, "And creating a nuisance." And they all came back, shook my hand,
and we had a great time on the bench, talkin about crime, mother stabbing,
father raping, all kinds of groovy things that we was talking about on the
    bench.

Wehave a war on the Arizonia Border as well.

In the Salt Lake Tribune this morning was an article about the people who live in our border towns. Our United States Citizens are being terrorized. There are gang shootings, drug cartels, smugglilngs, rapes and murders near there homes. There have been Mexican Police shot and killed by there own people.

Mexico is clearly out of control. We don't need there problems here. We need to secure the borders more than ever and protect our Nation.

What is the difference between our border towns and Israel, Palestine, and Hamas?

The only difference is Israel is bombing the shit out of them.

The Mexican Citizen thinks that they own the Western part of the United States. They are fighting for it and winning. It is the same kind of war in the middle east and our damn commander in chief is BUSH!

He is losing two wars. One here in the West and in our border towns and one in Iraq.

Tell me does it seem odd how they all tie in?

To tell you the truth, I've lost track of all of the wars we are in right now. I think we just invaded Poland of France or Somalia or somewhere yesterday. Then if you want to know if we are winning or not, I would have to see your definition of winning first. That may be one of the problems with the wars we have now. No one defines winning.

Is it getting the world banks established in new territory?

Racking up a certain amount in profits from war related business ventures?

You are right. What is winning? Good question. Maybe we should ask Bush that one.

    TheFomorian, that's a great image!

MS-13 and others have set up shop in the cities of Texas. Operation Return to Sender is rounding up some of the worst ones but it's like a hydra, you cut off a head and 3 more appear.

They will just get amnesty under the Bush's plan or they will not apply for the right to stay under Bush's plan and they will "remain in the shadows". Therefore, nothing will be done about the worst illegal aliens in America.
