Americans will be armed to the hilt and will most definitely defend themselves. You're new and don't know what the Wall of Americans means. Judy's Wall of Americans is a corps of 40,000 American citizens guarding every mile of our border with Mexico. 6 person teams, 3 teams a day, 18 guards for each mile for 24/7 coverage, with 2 floaters for holidays and sick leave, 20 Americans per mile counting the floaters, x 2000 miles = 40,000 guards, earning $40,000 a year ($20 an hour) plus 20% in benefits for annual cost of $50,000 a year per guard. $50k x 40k = $2 billion a year plus $800 million a year for equipment, weapons, vehicles, radios, phones, binoculars, night vision gear, trailers, camping gear, supplies, etc. All they do is guard the mile. Add $200 million for management and administration and you've got an annual cost of $3 billion with every mile of the US border covered by at least 6 armed and equipped Americans at all times. They're Border Guards or Scouts whatever you want to call them, while Border Patrol's 25,000 Border Patrol Agents do the processing, transporting and so forthing.

National Guard could do it. But at the time when I came up with this idea, more than 10 years ago, we had lots of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan so didn't want to burden the NG any further and there were lots of unemployed Americans. Now maybe that situation is different and 40,000 National Guard could do it. They've already got all the equipment, vehicles, gear and so forth, they know how to camp and deal with rough environments, they already have a management and administration system in place, so the Wall of Americans could be citizen civilians or military, either way, doesn't matter. I prefer the human wall over the barrier wall myself. And there's some areas so rough and remote that maybe you wouldn't ultimately need 40,000, maybe 30,000 for 75% coverage instead of 100%. But I'd start out with 40,000 for 100% coverage and see what happens over time. You can always scale it back in areas that prove zero activity.

For interior enforcement, you use state and local law enforcement. Authorize them to enforce US immigration law. There's 800,000 sworn, trained, equipped and paid state and local police officers in the United States who arrest 12 million people annually. That's an average of only 1.5 arrests per month per officer according to FBI statistics. So I figure they could easily spare the time to arrest at least 2 illegal aliens a month for 11 months and 3 illegal aliens in 1 month which is 25 illegal aliens per officer per year, that's 20 million in one year. If there's 30 million, they could clean every illegal alien out of this country in less than 18 months with no major effort or any new expense.

Now, of course, we'd have to change the deportation order process because there's no way US DOJ could EVER keep up with that. So you'd have to use an executive order of some type to designate local magistrates or state court judges to ask 2 simple questions to issue a deportation order:

1. are you a US citizen, yes or no, verify with ICE
2. if no, do you have valid unexpired documents to be in the US, yes or no, verify with ICE
3. if no and no, then out you go complete with your entire kit and caboodle including all minor children, regardless of where they were born, no child left behind.

These are just a few of the ideas that I and other ALIPACERS have come up with over the years, but nothing ever happens. There's a bill in Congress, every year for many years to authorize state and local police officers to engage in enforcement of US immigration law, but it just sits because Republicans don't have enough votes in the Senate to pass it. Every session of Congress they're reintroduced, same with ending birthright citizenship, there's a bill, Vitter had the bill first in the Senate, and Steve King has one in the House, every session they were introduced, Vitter left the Senate, King is still in the House, he still introduces his and I think someone introduces Vitter's in the Senate, but it doesn't matter because we don't have enough Republican Senators to pass an immigration bill.

It's not their fault things haven't happened that require legislation. They can't pass bills we want without a majority in the House, 60 Votes in the Senate and a Republican President who will sign them.

So if you want to beat up on Trump and Republicans, then you might as well just open the borders, because this is our last chance to end this scourge in the United States. It's one thing to stop amnesty, it's quite another to stop illegal immigration.

Everyone needs to keep that fact in mind.

All of that, and you are going to let them walk right in and then go to the expense of processing, transporting, and so forthing? Why not STOP them from crossing and eliminate that expense and circus?

I'm sure they will stop most of them. But some are going to get in and have to be arrested and processed and you don't want the guards/scouts to leave their mile. Right now, for every 1 arrested by BP, 4 or 5 are getting through unaccounted for and once inside the interior, they're gone. The purpose of the Wall of Americans is to not only stop them at the border, but track those who get in so BP can pick 'em up before they disappear into the interior.

I know what you want to do, but I don't support that.

I'd much rather use economic sanctions on their home countries so they'll stop it, and they will, because trade with the United States is far more valuable to them than drug and other criminal enterprise money and remittances. If we use economic sanctions against these countries, sanctions that impact all their businesses, citizens and governments, they'll unite to stop it on their own.
