Thread: Feds Giving Illegal Aliens More Time to Clear Up Immigration Status for Obamacare

The Obama administration has given enrollees in Obamacare who may be illegal immigrants more time to clear up their immigration status before being trimmed from the rolls, the Department of Health and Human Services said this week.

Andy Slavitt, principal deputy administrator at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, noted that upwards to 115,000 enrollees still have a questionable immigration status on their applications.

These Heatlhcare.gov enrollees now have until Sept. 30 to clear up discrepancies.

Another 851,000 enrollees have either had discrepancies cleared or are already in the process of resolving them now, Slavitt said.

Slavitt also reported that over 200,000 enrollees could be thrown off the Obamacare rolls if they cannot clear up their immigration status.

Saying that Obamacare is "working" for America, Slavitt had to admit, "As we look to the future, we recognize that we still have work to do."

In states across the country, though, illegal immigrants have slipped into the healthcare exchanges in one way or another. The Obama administration assured illegal aliens that if they signed up for Obamacare their information would not be used for deportation procedures.
