Government ‘freebies’ to illegal immigrants should stop

I recently read a letter to the editor in a newspaper in which a citizen said illegal aliens are costing taxpayers a lot of money.

I do agree with the citizen’s letter, but I don’t think it’s illegal immigrants who are completely at fault. The U.S. government deserves blame because it is giving illegal immigrants free medical care, free money and free food stamps. Who of us doesn’t want free things, especially immigrants who come from a country where they had nothing, where having money for food or to go to the doctor wasn’t available.

I agree. Another well kept dirty Government secret is that those who do come here legally have to sign waivers stating their ability to stay in this country will be forfeited it they apply for ANY government help program. As the spouse of a legal immigrant, I too had to sign this form. This will also apply to my minor children. Why should illegals be entitled to "freebees" that the legal are not?

I don't need nor want government help, its merely the point that I am inelligable and they are not.

It is time for illegals to go home regardless of how long they have been here and how many kids they have. They have not followed our laws to enter our country and we really don't need them.

Quick question for you, say you had a kid here would they be denied free healthcare, foodstamps etc since you signed that document? Not that you need it but asking because of how unfair it is to have an illegal have an anchor baby then get everything for free. I wondered how that worked for someone who came here legally as your spouse did.

I keep writing on some blogs about this. In South Florida our taxes are killing us. My taxes went up almost $5,000 in one year and I have Homestead. I tell people it is mostly due no the money we spend on providing freebies to illegals. Yes the real estate market went crazy and then slowed down but the services for most living here have not changed and now with proposed tax cuts the cities need to cut programs and /or layoff staff. It would be interesting to see how much lower taxes would be if these people would all be deported or the freebies stopped. The article mentioned healthcare, section 8 housing, food stamps, education costs and free lunches but did not mention free tutoring for them, English as a second language programs in the schools, and free English as a second language classes for the parents if they decide to learn. Then there are free after school programs for their kids in some areas in Florida and free sports programs for them, and free food hampers at both Christmas and Thanksgiving that some community agencies such as the police departments handout. I am sure that there are other things as well that I forgot to mention.

We do have a son and yes he would (be denied) until he is 18 and out of our household. I think the rules have been changed for those who came after my husband and their black out is something like 10 years. The closest we can come to any government aid is ss when we are old enough and unemployment insurance payments if we get laid off. unemployment insurance and ss are both forms of government insurance and not aid per se. The point really ticks me off. There is also the in state tuition situations some states have where illegals are considered to be "in state" while legals are "out of state". Our Government gives plenty of incentives not to do this right. I agree that legals should not get the benefits for long periods of time, if I did not I never would have agreed to sign the papers. I just feel illegals should not be getting them either. I doubt they will have to sign a danged thing IF they get the amnesty gift. Did I fully answer your question?

Would appear our own government likes giving away our tax money to illegals. It also appears they don't give 2 s---'s about us taxpayers. I wonder why they are bending over backwards for the illegals. Does our Government do anything without reason? Maybe they just want to tax us to death and with few leagal citizens affording healthcare, and taking our property right out from under us, would appear they are trying to run us in the ground!

Until I met my husband and we went through the immigration jungle, I didn't know either. I don't think I have met anybody who has not had direct experience that realised this point. Just trying to educate people on the dirty little secret. I am willing to bet our new mama Jen is in the same boat as me.

There is NOBODY who is more passionately against illegal aliens than LEGAL ALIENS and their spouses.

Also LEGAL immigrants must go through 5, count them 5, separate security checks. At the time my husband entered he was checked by the CIA, INS, FBI, NSA and the newly formed Homeland Security. The immigrant pays for these checks not the taxpayers. He also had to have a full physical, at his expense, by an INS approved DR. (The one he was assigned to was a pediatrician, they offered him a lollipop when he was done ) After that there was one more joint check, then he got a temporary card. We had interviews and had to sign a paper that any time for any reason INS could just enter our house during our first three years of marriage to make sure we were not bucking the system. They never did come and visit, but they could have if they wanted too. Every time we move he needs to report it to immigration. I think that is about it.
