08-03-2008, 09:58 PM #11"Information is shared (between DHS departments), but only on a need-to-know basis," FEMA spokesman Don Jacks said. "We're not a law enforcement agency; we're here to help people."
FEMA is a U.S. Federal agency and needs to abide by all federal laws.
FEMA and ICE are both agencies within the Dept. of Homeland Security and it's insane for FEMA not to share information concerning illegal aliens with ICE. Essentially FEMA is shooting ICE in the foot and betraying tax-payers. In addition, FEMA's aid to an illegal alien may be aid to a gang member or potential terrorist."Distrust and caution are the parents of security."

Once again, FEMA proves to the world and especially the American public that it is an arm of the Bush White House and is a cesspool of corruption and incompetence.

Anyone who is in the U.S. ILLEGALLY during the time of an emergency should be given food, water, shelter, deportation orders and transportation back to his/her country of origin ASAP.
The transportation part should be considered a gift or a gesture of kindness of behalf of the citizens of the United States who by the way MUST obey the laws of the United States or find themselves in big trouble.
When U.S. citizens and LEGAL residents and visitors of the United States face a disaster or emergency, they at least deserve to have the laws which exist for their safety and well-being to be ENFORCED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT.

The laws changed? No, Mr. Flores, the laws didn't change. The laws are finally being E-N-F-O-R-C-E-D!

We had a flood here in May. Very few people came to the temporary shelter for people displaced by the flood. Turns out someone had started a rumor that ICE would be checking for illegals there. :P

"If a member of their household is a legal resident, or if they have a child who is a legal resident, then they can file for cash assistance through that relative. "
Just like they do get food stamps, section 8 housing etc..... use the kid to apply for these services

FEMA
FEMA has proven to be incompetent. Handing out debit cards to people who never even owned a home before Katrina. The thieves come out of the woodwork to collect money they have no right to.
The thing that stands out in my mind is how SELDOM we see Hispanics helping whites or blacks or Asians when THEIR neighborhoods are flooded or blown away. When the news shows people filling sandbags, volunteers from the community---where are all the illegals? I guess they think ICE will be there too.
