One final sellout before it's off to campaigning for re-election, it appears.
It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

YIPEE!! We now have cloture on the fence bill. The vote was 71 to 28. I believe Sen. Chaffee was the only Republican to vote against cloture. Of course as we all know, he is a Republican in title only - he normally votes with the Democrats.

There should be a vote on the bill tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

I was really surprised to see that they were even voting on cloture today, and the fact that it passed is an even greater surprise. It had sounded like the Democrats were going to block it. Did anyone else notice that during the voting several of the most ardent amnesty supporters, including Specter, waited until there was already a 2/3 majority of yes votes before they went ahead and voted yes?

    Why do you say that?

It's not on their calendar for September 29.

Not on their calendar for tomorrow?

    Damn Traitors.

Maybe they can put it on tomorrow since cloture is now approved?

All cloture does is prevent a fillibuster. It doesn't mean that they actually have to do anything.

With the bribe collecting season in full bloom right now, they're going to be very busy for the rest of the year.
