Schmitt had been on administrative leave since March 7 after he spoke with lawmakers about a bill that would make it a state crime to hire illegal immigrants.

Did he speak for the bill or against it? I couldn't find any reference to what he said in the article.

Oh, I see, so Mexico owns the Huron City Commission. ICE needs to raid the farms and chicken and turkey processing plants of Huron immediately and the citizens of Huron need to raid the Huron City Commission next election.

Mexico is a protected trade partner. Anything against it or illegal immigrants is bound to draw criticism or trouble. That seems to be the reality. It's probably because of money and special interests. It sounds like we have adopted Mexico as a sub-country or another state.

Doug Schmitt was testifying in favor of a bill Monday morning that would make it a state crime to hire illegal immigrants. He told lawmakers he knew of employers in the area who had knowingly hired illegal workers.
