A local Latin American advocacy group supports a resolution that would allow illegal immigrants to get driver licenses.

The League of United Latin American Citizens’ Civil Right Council 7115 supported the resolution, passed by its state chapter in Miami last week, during a press conference Thursday at the Golden Gate Community Center.

Council President Victor Valdes presented the resolution, aimed at providing driver licenses to undocumented immigrants with no criminal record.

On one side, there is the humanitarian issue that affects the unlicensed immigrants, Valdes said.

“But I realized that there would be racist people out there that would say, ‘Well, we don’t care,’â€

If undocumented drivers have licenses and insurance, the state’s drivers would be safer, Valdes said.
That state is filled with people driving without licenses and insurance. In the area I lived in I doubt 1/2 were driving legally. And that means citizens. The majority were suspended licenses and there wasn't any decent form of public transportation at the time so many drove illegally. Not to mention it's filled with vacationers, snow birds and a host of others......so I know getting a license is no guarentee they will drive safely or have insurance. They've already passed out licenses like candy as it is anyway and it didn't help and they didn't have insurance either.

EXACTLY!!!!!!! Since when is it all just about the Latinos? They have the same exact rights the rest of us have if they are here legally. They just want the rules to be exempt for those here illegally.

According to New Mexico documents, residents within that state — with or without a Social Security number— are required to present two forms of identification to obtain a driver license. A person without a Social Security card can present either a tax identification number, a Matricula Consular provided by the Mexican Consulate in Albuquerque after February 2005 or a valid foreign passport to obtain a driver license.

New Mexico is accepting the Matricular Consular card and a foreign passport--both issued at Mexican consulates with little proof of real identity. This is a national security issue. All states must not accept New Mexico driver's licenses as valid for anyone! New Mexico and Governor Richardson have NO right to put us at risk.

A 'reason' given for a Mexican consulate in Boise is so they don't have to travel to Salt Lake City to get a Matricular Consular card and passport when in fact the Mexican Salt Lake City Consulate has a mobile consulate.
One can bet they will be traveling to New Mexico for driver's licenses.

New Mexio driver's licenses enables voter fraud.

Since 2003, New Mexico has issued 50,562 driver licenses to foreign nationals or those without a legal presence. Out of the 50,562, a total 10,790 issued since Oct. 1.

New Mexico had better be providing ICE with a copy, including photograph, of each license issued to an illegal alien.

The 50,562 issued are not only to illegal aliens living in New Mexico--a scam from NJ was carried out to obtain NM DL's with fraudelent documents.

And yet there are those pro-illegal invader advocates that claim their is no direct evidence illegals are voting in our elections. We don't need direct evidence to make the case as their is plenty of circumstantial evidence, combined with a little common sense which indicates there is a substantial likelihood illegals are voting in our elections.

What, there are people who actually believe illegals are suddenly going to become law abidding citizens when it comes to observing/obeying our election laws.

Even one illegal voting is one too many as it undermines the vote of an American citizen who has the right to participate in the political process.
