GRAHAM — Nearly 900 illegal immigrants who are heads of household in Alamance County receive food stamp electronic benefit transfer cards monthly, based on federal requirements to provide benefits to others living in their household who qualify.

Alamance County Department of Social Services Director Susan Osborne said on Thursday during a county DSS board meeting that illegal immigrants who receive the cards aren’t supposed to use the cards for themselves.
