Missing infant, mother found safe in North Carolina

MARIETTA - An eight-month old baby and his 15-year-old mother were recovered safely in North Carolina Friday, one day after they were taken at gunpoint from their home in Marietta.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation canceled the Levi's call, saying infant Sergio Vargas Junior and Crystal Vargas were found.

The GBI said the suspect, 21-year-old Sergio Hernandez-Maya is in custody. The Cobb County Police Department said Hernandez is the father of the child.
