JUAREZ - Four people were shot and killed Friday in two used auto parts businesses, one day after junkyard owners announced they would have a one-day strike to protest the lack of safety in the city.

At about 2 p.m., the owner of a business named "Traga Balas," or bullet swallower, and one of his employees were shot to death. Authorities have not released the names of the victims.

In the other shooting, a group of armed men entered a junkyard named "Yonke 86" and opened fire, killing two people. According to police sources, one victim was the owner and the other was an employee.

Both attacks occurred within an hour.
