Merry Christmas! My main point was the savaging Lou Dobbs was a pointless and counter productive, like burning heretics at stake for example. Dobbs brought up countless stories about the border and had called it "broken." His credentials are impeccible.

To speak to what you said about compromise, I think anyone against illegal immigration has to realize that it is an untenable argument to say, "All be gone!" The "dreamers" do have a good point, but even the Dream Act is probably unacceptable since it is also a bandaid for sucking chest wound.

Like I said earlier, the opponents of illegal immigration have the better arguments and hold the higher cards. People like William Gheen should want a place at the table when the discussion comes rather than be looking in complaining about semantics. A deal can be made and when it is made it should take the best interests of the United States into the strictest account. If it doesn't, it is an abomination.

Only an idiot continues to cut off his nose to spite his face. Would you have us working on our ears next?

Deals have been made, but never carried out, This has happened too many times to even think that any compromise would work.

digorykirke, The only thing worse than a lawyer or a Republican is a Democrat. The only thing worse than a Democrat is a Buffalo chip stuck to the bottom of your boot. The lawyer, Republican, and the Democrat all understand very well the art of compromise. Now the fellow with the buffalo chip stuck to the bottom of his boot understands all too well that it will require much scrubbing to get the buffalo chip from the bottom of his boot.

The art of compromise without a score card leads one to where we find ourselves today. What a mess. My scorecard says it is time for the other side to compromise. Compromise theirselves right into common sense enforcement starting with the illegal aspect first. ILLEGAL must be understood! After that throw the employers in jail no matter their status of supposed heirarchy. Throw more in jail after you get started, do not stop until the word gets out that enforcement is the rule of the day. Then go at it again.

Remember the idiots of self imposed superiority that claimed they did not know the immigration status of their servents and nannys? They should have been thrown in jail! The lack of enforcement sent the message that all was tolerated,......wink, wink.

Once it is taken seriously, the message will go out throughout the world, the gringos are serious about immigration policies. Then respect for our laws can be re-established.

Compromise at this point is suicidal. Allowing the air of superiority from those that have studied law, the art of compromise, and debate continue to rely on hat tricks. Label them charlatans, frauds, hucksters, snake oil salesmen, con-artists, scum sucking bottom feeders, yellow bellied snakes, weasels, and spineless worms, then when that is understood, we can go back to the table and tell them all to take a bath.

Could it be that we have a expanding money supply? Using the trickle down theory, print and give vast amounts to the bankers. Then the bankers can release little by little into the economy as they buy cheap assets with the cheap (damn near free money) money. Carefull that releasing to much will result in inflationary spikes. Understanding that as more and more money is printed that more and more demand (debt) will be needed, hence the immigration debate is not about humanitarian efforts, but needed to share in the payment of ever mounting debt, and to creat more debt through purchase and demand or government social services.

The Republicans could not have won the last election as they could not have been the party to expand the money supply. The base would have left forever. Choas was created through manipulation of the markets right in time for the election. In walks Wonder Boy and the emergency calls for bold moves. Mucho money is created. Next this has to be paid for, Hello Health Care Reform, this will help to suck up some of this money and hedge off some of the inflationary pressures. Next was to be Carbon Tax scheme, more money to be drained by taxation as the trickle down starts to flow. Transferring that money to other markets to be seen another day in trade policies. Then bring in more people to this country, some legal, some illegal, all helping to demand for more of the money.

As the global corporations grow, and the developing countries grow, the dollar being the global currency, more and more of those dollars are needed so that the global corporations can continue to grab more and more of the global market place. Thus the consumer, or debtor will pick up the tab for the price of the printed currency through taxation and inflation. Trickle down? The borrower is slave to the lender. It was borrowed for us through an intermediary, the banks.

Wonder Boy as a the puppet.

Just some thoughts. Not sure how much they are worth, lucky this is a for free subscription.
