Wish I lived in Fremont
...just so I could vote against those yahoo's who are so in favor of not listening to their constituents. I guess I'm limited to supporting their opponents at the next roundup.

The illegal parents can and are deported. And the anchor babies can go with them. The anchor babies are not citizens, it is a big fat lie in the way the 14th Amendment is used to give these illegals a hope of stealing citizenship in the United States.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome to this site!
"Welcome, KateH!
I thought of Nebraska as a state with relative political peace, but I guess it is a lot more exciting than I initially thought!"
In answer to this question, no Nebraska is NOT a state with political peace. I believe people are finally beginning to look around and wonder why is such a small state with only 1.8 million residents so taxed? We are one of the most taxed states in the Union. The state, city and local politicians have yet to find a tax they didn't love. They just posted our state budget and we have now passed the billion dollar mark in aide to individuals....ie welfare medicaid and the like. A large amount considering we have always had a very low unemployment rate here, even now with the recession. Our local schools are in shambles because of the amount of children who can not speak English and with each passing year the taxes go up to support these schools. We have entire sections of cities where english is NOT spoken. Drug wars are here and people are being gunned down in the streets. Yes, in sleepy Nebraska. There was an article in USA today awhile back where Nebraska was mentioned (along with such states as CA) as a state "friendly" to illegal aliens. The end result of that was a mass transfer from states who are cracking down on illegal aliens to us. The situation continues to worsen. Now we are seeing hard working people leave the state for greener pastures elsewhere only adding to the problem as there are less of us to bear the cost of all the welfare. I fear the state is spiraling down and unless we stand up we will become another California.
So, no, there is no peace. Fremont and Nebraska has started to fight back and we can use all the support we can get!

Welcome Kate!
I've been at this a couple of years now. I trusted the politicians would do their jobs, so we could go on about our business, but I found out lot of them are like incompetent, arrogant and self-serving. So now we have to do for free what they are paid to do.I didn't leave the Republican Party. The party left me. Inspired by Ronald Reagan

Nebrakans Fighting Back on Drug/Gang Wars
The report KateH gave you all is correct.
I want EVERYONE to know that NEBRASKANS have been OPPOSING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION for the past three years. We have protested on the streets, tesitified at Unicameral Public Hearings, attend Illegal Alien support groups anti-American hateful "immigration summits", we attend city council meetins, we call, emal our politicians.
Three years ago the Illegal Alien support groups targeted Nebraska as a "gateway" state - we've been able to turn that around but it has not been with pats on the back, it has been a tough, heart-breaking struggle.
We've been called racists, bigots, nazi, we've had rocks, bottles thrown at us and people driving on the sidewalk in an attempt to run us over, we've had local print media reporters beat us to the ground in their "opinion pieces". We've been police escorted out of "immigration summits" because we challenged the censoring and rewording of our questions
and corrected the misinformation they were giving to the people.
God Loving, God-fearing, patriotic Nebraskans have given up time with their families, money out of their pockets and put up with such abuse from politicians and the Ultra Liberal machine, yet we have persevered.
And now since Obama was elected, we see that tide being turned BACK around.
I can tell you this, we have renewed our determination and we will NOT go down without a fight!
