In this example of gamma-imaging technology, two individuals are seen hiding in a container of Styrofoam trays.

BLAINE, Wash. – Gamma-imaging technology helped border patrol agents nab two Hondurans trying to sneak over the U.S.-Canada border.

U.S. Customs officials say a 37-year-old stowaway aboard a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train was caught April 27 in Blaine. The gamma-imaging technology, which lets agents scan cars without searching them, helped discovered Elmer Centeno Castro hiding out inside a grain car. He has a long criminal past and is currently wanted in San Francisco on a felony drugs warrant.

Just four days later, that same technology helped them find 24-year-old Rigoberto Valle Acosta hiding out in a hopper car. He was immediately sent back to Canada.

    Good one Jim!
Although smugglees would have to hide in a 1 inch thick lead box to keep from being detected by gamma imaging.
