Gov. Rick Perry Says Texas May Soon Take Steps to Secure the Border — With or Without the Federal Government’s Help

Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) has been begging the federal government for years to secure America’s southern border. Now, as America faces what some are calling an “invasion” of illegal aliens, Perry said the time may come that Texas is forced to secure its roughly 1,200 mile border with Mexico with or without the federal government’s help.

“We’ve been able to shut down illegal activities in certain sectors with our different operations that we’ve had,” Perry said on The Glenn Beck Program Thursday. “But I think there’s a point in time where you say, ‘You know what? This 1,200 mile border has to be secured.’ And if there is a people and if there is a place that it can happen, it will be Texas.”

Perry said that most have been focusing on the tens of thousands of unaccompanied children crossing into America when discussing the border crisis. And while he said what they are going through is a “tragedy,” it is important to remember that the children only make up about 20 percent of all the illegals flooding America’s borders.

“80 percent of those coming across, we don’t know who they are,” Perry said. “In Katy, Texas yesterday an individual was apprehended who had murdered an individual in Louisiana.”

The also two discussed a 9-year-old girl who was recently molested by an illegal immigrant in Texas, and Perry said there have been roughly 3,000 murders by illegals in the past six years.

“That’s unacceptable, and that’s the reason that we have to secure that border,” Perry said.

The governor said he and his team are “methodically, thoughtfully going through this process” of determining how to best secure the border, and “hoping against hope, frankly, that the federal government’s going to be a partner in

The Texas Nationals had a call-in blitz to the Guv's office today calling for several things, activating the TX NG and expanding it, calling a spec. session of the legislature to pass several laws, one that would make it illegal to shelter aliens in TX.

Sounds as if he may still need a bit of nudge, I'll call again tomorrow.

Well, you better not quit calling over and over because Texans are getting tired of Perry's lies and BS that he is putting out there. It is long past time for him to do something.

Hey, thanks for the reminder, yeah, he is a difficult one to get to exercise common sense, too. Politician, ya' know.

Hope he gets the balls to get this done. But he knows full well that if he takes steps against illegal aliens that the DOJ will go after him fast. If he deploys the NG its going to be hell if the orders the NG have from him are turning away illegal aliens and likely Obama will try using the DHS and FBI against him. IF any death on either side comes about from the NG stopping illegal aliens from crossing all hell will break loose which could be the starting gunshot to a civil war. Americans are so close to rising up but so many are hoping they don't see themselves directly effected such as losing their own job to illegal aliens. Many keep hoping someone else steps up and takes care of this but the straw has gotten so thin, 1 specific step could set everything ablaze.

I even think that that first shot fired might lead to a new republic facing a world power. A great many people are totally fed up with the US government. The future is very hard to foresee at this stage, the worst is I do not think the US gov't is aware of hw far they've pushed Americans.
