I wonder how many of them are also using illegal immigrant labor.

Gov't Contractors Owe $3.3 Billion In Taxes
Senator Says Delinquent Companies Shouldn't Get Jobs

WASHINGTON -- Government contractors get paid with taxpayer dollars -- but are they paying their fair share?

A new General Accountability Office report says 33,000 civilian contractors owe the government $3.3 billion in unpaid taxes.

But it's not that they're short of money. The report found owners of the delinquent companies had "substantial personal assets," including millions in real estate and luxury vehicles.

Senators want to do something about that. The chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Sen. Norm Coleman, says companies that owe back taxes shouldn't be allowed to get government contracts.

The GAO report concluded that the Treasury Department's Financial Management Service bureau has done a poor job of using a program allowing it to withhold payment from delinquent contractors.
