Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Wednesday said he will offer legislation to extend a key Obama administration immigration program.

"I'm going to introduce legislation with my Democratic colleagues and my Republican colleagues that would continue the legal status of the DACA kids," Graham told reporters.

Pressed on details of his legislation, which he'll roll out next year, Graham said: "It's going to be basically if you have legal status today, you'll continue to have legal status."

President-elect Donald Trump pledged during the campaign to nix President Obama's executive orders, including the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

The program — which has faced a lengthy legal battle — provides people living in the U.S. illegally who arrived as children with work authorization and a temporary halt on deportation if they meet certain requirements.

While Graham said there's a "good argument" that Obama's move was illegal, he believes a temporary DACA extension would pass "overwhelmingly."

"If he repeals it then we ought to immediately pass legislation to extend their legal status. I'm willing to do that," he said. "I'm going to support legislation that will continue legal status for these kids until we can find a fix to the overall program."

Trump sparked backlash from Democrats, and some Republicans, during the campaign when he pledged to deport the roughly 11 million immigrants currently living illegally in the U.S.

He's seemingly softened that stance, telling CBS News that his administration would focus first on deporting undocumented immigrants who have ties to crime.

Graham was one of eight senators known as the “Gang of Eight" who spearheaded a wide-ranging immigration bill that passed the Senate in 2013.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who also worked on the bill, told NBC's "Meet the Press" that he wouldn't support "retroactively" removing DACA status but would recommend Trump not allow DACA permit renewals.

The fix is to boot them ALL out! Just go away Lindsey, We The People are back in charge. If you don't like it convert to the democrap side... you're most of the way there already. If you do this maybe it will wake SC up and they'll give you the boot too!

That's it, nomas. That is the only solution to "boot them all out". I don't care what the media says, I don't care what other countries say, this is our country, these are our borders, these are our laws, and we have every right to enforce them to the letter and verse across the board on the earliest possible date.

When they're all out, all their orgies collapse, the drug cartels are gone, the crime is gone, the poverty is gone, the burdens on schools and hospitals are gone, billions of unnecessary spending are gone, unemployment of our own is reduced, wages rise, it's all win, win, win.

We can get every single one of them out of here in less than 2 years. We have the money to do it, we have the resources to do it, we have the will to do it, and we have a new President who can't wait to do it.

From now on, when the MEDIA asks Trump what about illegal aliens, he needs to answer with one sentence, "I'm going to enforce the law, that's my job, that's my obligation, that's what I was elected to do, and that's what I'm going to do."

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican, told Politico he's been talking to Republicans and Democrats about a bill to protect undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children.

That's in direct opposition to one of Donald Trump's campaign promises: to undo President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals directive aimed at giving legal protection to more than 700,000 undocumented immigrants.

After ending his presidential bid, Graham became one of Trump's biggest detractors in the Republican Party. Graham said he couldn't go where Trump was "taking the [Republican] party" and called on party members to unendorse Trump.

The senator hasn't always been a fan of stand-alone bills that protect young undocumented immigrants.

"You're wasting your time. We're not going to pass the DREAM Act or any other legalization program until we secure our borders," Graham said in a speech to the Senate in 2010.

But Graham has been a proponent of comprehensive immigration reform for years and was part of a bipartisan group known as the Gang of Eight working toward that end.

Graham said the bill wouldn't be up for a vote until next year when Trump will already be in office — so the new president and the Senate might be headed for a fight.

Graham is on FOX now saying he is confident the legislation will go forward. He cannot live with himself iF these 740,000 kids are not allowed to stay. Paul Ryan would go along as we know.

He is reminded by FOX host that this is incentive for more to come, that most are adults. He says that is reason we need to secure the border. Graham says he thinks Trump is the kind of guy to do this, not to ruin these kids lives.

Amnesty Republicans race on to put others ahead of Americans. Senator Sessions revealed in hearings how the DACA did not screen out criminals and they do not have to pay as portrayed.

The parents ruined these kids lives...not USA. Send the whole family back. Time for Mexico to clean up their country and invest in their own citizens...not US taxpayers.

Graham is a sore loser!

Sen. Graham is trying to win, for the second time, the National Council of La Raza 'Capitol Award'.

Planning a vacation to Mexico? Do not go there, shut their tourist industry down. Spend your tourist dollars in the Hawaiian Islands, the Florida beaches, Key West or US Virgin Islands.

Send the message to President Nieto to put HIS military on the border and stop the drugs, diseases, the human trafficking and invasion of OUR country.

President Nieto needs to get on Spanish television...telling HIS citizens to pack up and go back to Mexico. He has plenty of land for them...put them in a Safe Zone on HIS soil. He can give them tents and shelter, set up schools, put them to work building Mexico. The Mexican Churches and Mexican billionaires can work together in this effort.

Anybody in the USA going shopping? Going to the liquor store? Check every label, if is says "Made in Mexico"...put it back on the shelf...do not buy it.

The USA is a Nation of Laws...respect OUR Laws, our people and our Country. Mexico is NOT a good neighbor.

Every American needs to stand together...get the word out...do NOT use your money to buy products or travel in Mexico.

If our own government and Mexico refuse to secure our borders and stop this invasion...we MUST do it with our wallets!
