Immigration reform advocates are keeping the heat on key Senators to act quickly on a new legislative package, saying time is short to get anything done this year.

Despite scoring a couple of successes in recent days — the unveiling of a bipartisan proposal by Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) last week followed by a large rally Sunday on the National Mall — reform advocates are worried it will get increasingly difficult to move legislation with each day that passes before the midterm elections.

Reform advocates say they are much better organized this year, with a grass-roots network that can be mobilized through text messaging, micro-targeting and e-mail.
But they can't vote. Too bad for them.

To recap, without reconciliation, they'll need 60 votes in the Senate. So we need to call Republican Senators and moderate and Democratic Senators who have been on the anti-amnesty, pro-American worker side before: such as Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu, Max Baucus, Byron Dorgan, Robert Byrd, etc. If you know of any other names, please add and call them!

    Please keep calling and faxing.

Regarding John Cornyn, I repeat: he has been saying that we have to secure ther border first; but even Lindsey Graham admits that Obama is not doing a good job on border security as he (Obama) has cut the number of border agents etc.

So, by using Cornyn's own logic, it is STILL premature to be discussing "path to citizenship" mass amnesty.

The government still has not proven to the American people that it is serious about securing the border and enforcing our immigration laws!
