Gunshots fired near U.S. Consulate in Mexico

MONTERREY, Mexico – Gunshots were fired Thursday near the U.S. Consulate in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey, prompting officials to beef up security at the building.

No one was injured and it wasn't clear if the gunshots were directed at the consulate. U.S. Ambassador Tony Garza described them as “fired in the vicinity.â€

Garza said he was suspending all visa services at the consulate Thursday while officials assess the security situation.

I recommend we suspend all visa services at all embassies and consulates throughout the world, until we figure out who is here on a visa, has overstayed the visa, or is here illegally!
Enough is enough.

Soldiers and police quickly surrounded the building, and Garza thanked the Mexican government for its quick response.



I wouldn't be so quick to "thank" them. How do we know this just wasn't some excercise intended to see how fast they could surround the building in a takeover?

How very convenient it would be for them to create a "situation" and then make it appear that they were responding to it in the capacity of assistance.

WHY do we continue to trust these people, for God's sake?
