    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.

Why in the world are they being given over a year and a half? Most schools end their year around May or June don't they? What other reason could there possibly be for keeping the protected status beyond that date? Protection end should have been after the completion of the 2017-2018 school year in May or June of 2018. No logical reason that I'm aware of to extend it beyond that.

Hmm, perhaps Elaine Duke's just sees is as a way to give the Congress more time to give them permanent status.

"To allow for an orderly transition, the effective date of the termination of TPS for Haiti will be delayed 18 months. This will provide time for individuals with TPS to arrange for their departure or to seek an alternative lawful immigration status in the United States, if eligible.

It will also provide time for Haiti to prepare for the return and reintegration of their citizens. During this timeframe, USCIS will work with the State Department, other DHS components and the Government of Haiti to help educate relevant stakeholders and facilitate an orderly transition.

It's what they don't tell you that you have to worry about. Regardless, 18 months is still way to long!
