The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office on Friday received a report of immigrants being held against their will at a mobile home near Edinburg. Deputies responded to Via Rojo Street in rural Edinburg at about 2 p.m. where they found 53 immigrants suspected of being in the country without authorization. “There was no sign of the guards that were reportedly guarding the home,” according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and transported a pregnant woman to a local hospital. A truck reported stolen out of Harlingen was parked outside the stash house, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies working with Operation Stonegarden were involved in the investigation. The unauthorized immigrants were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol, according to the Sheriff’s Office. 53 in one house in one day multiplied by how many existing houses in use. I will never give any credence to any government statistic concerning aliens/undocumented workers. Other numbers published insists that the government manipulates numbers to pacify the ignorant. It must still work in their favor just like it did in 1986. After 29 years how could their even be that many believers in government statistics today??? Mind boggling.
