Feds grab 22 illegal Maui restaurant workers

Twenty-two restaurant workers who were in the U.S. illegally were arrested by federal agents on Maui.

Eight of the workers were arrested May 2 by agents at the Cheeseburger Island Style and Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants in Wailea and Lahaina.

Fourteen illegal workers were arrested at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Lahaina, according to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

All of the workers, 16 men and six women, are from Mexico. Twenty of the workers have been transferred to the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu. The remaining two workers were processed and released under supervision on humanitarian grounds, pending future immigration proceedings.

I'd like to know just how they got to Hawaii? What kind of ID did they use to board a plane? From what airport? Did they have a Visa and just overstay? Doubtful!

I ate at that Bubba Gump's last December 2007! The illegals must've been in the kitchen, coz I didn't see anything. Well....to be honest, I wasn't really looking coz I didn't expect to find any in Maui!!
