Hispanic Caucus Blocks Voting on Visas

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Blocks Voting on Visas as Bargaining Chip

HYANNIS, Mass. (By Katie Zezima, NYTimes) March 14, 2008 — For years, William Zammer Jr. has relied on 100 seasonal foreign employees to turn down beds, boil lobsters and serve cocktails at the restaurants, golf course and inn he owns on Cape Cod and in nearby Plymouth.
This summer, however, the foreign workers will not be returning, and Mr. Zammer, like other seasonal employers across the nation, is scrambling to find replacements.

Gee maybe these employers should try hiring like we did in the good ole days, raise their pay and hire American citizens.

The people affected by this seem to be the caterers of fun for the rich. The same ones who are destroying us with their need for cheap labor. The rich will play elsewhere. The circuses are out of date. Relics of the past. Does anyone care?

Use Americans and pay a decent wage. Or go out of business.

Cape Cod should be busing in citizens and legal immigrants from Fall River and New Bedford.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

It's "racism" (Mexican nationalism) if they were Mexicans they wouldn't care... How the hell dose Mexican patriots get elected to service Mexico's interest in the US Congress anyway?

Mexicans 85,206 almost triple all the rest combined only equal 30,001!

For an ethnic group of congresspersons to hold us hostage to their demands is a sign that their allegiance is to their "their" people and not Americans.

Stop voting in anyone from an ethnic group who has a large number of illegal aliens in this country.

I would NEVER vote in a hispanic just because he/she is a hispanic. It's plain stupid! I want to know about candidates issues, NOT about their culture.

    Quote in part:

"Some advocates for business owners argue that employers who go to the trouble of hiring legal employees are being unfairly punished.

“It’s kind of sad that those who have followed the law, paid an inordinate amount of money to follow the law by paying attorneys’ fees, prevailing wage and following the rules, are those who are getting hurt,â€

    I grew up in Boston--

    I grew up in Boston--
Every summer high school and college students filled the jobs. It is absolute BS that the employers cannot find employees. They had to provide lodging for the kids when I was younger. If they hire illegals and let 4 of them sleep in one bed, they save money..
    Most importantly---It's Teddy Kennedy country..
