Iowa Latinos are planning a complete strike Thursday to fight President Donald Trump’s agenda on immigration.

Latin businesses intend to shut down so they can participate in a “Day without Immigrants” march, reports The Des Moines Register.

As part of the event, immigrants will stay home from work, keep their children from going to school, not visit restaurants, or refrain from shopping, according to an immigrant who plans on participating.

“One day is not going to be a big deal, but once they start deporting (immigrants), it’s going to start making a difference,” Juan Rodríguez, a U.S. citizen from Colombia, explained. “Businesses will be closing. Mortgages won’t be paid. … The economy is going to start slowing down.”

A spokesman for the march said that approximately 70 Latin businesses had expressed support for the event.

Milwaukee, Wis. residents hosted a similar event Monday. Various refugees and immigrants protested potential deportations in the “Day without Latinos” event.

“I believe we’re all going to be detained. We’re all going to be questioned. If I’m not doing a crime, there’s no reason why I should be. These are basic human rights that I think they’re trying to violate,” one demonstrator said at the Milwaukee protest.

Five hundred people are expected to show up at the Iowa protest. Organizers asked people to only use U.S. flags when at the march.

“We believe minorities are the target right now of this administration,” Manuel Galvez, the organizer spokesman, said. “It’s the moment to send one message: we need to unite.”

Can the US Taxpayers participate in a protest in a "Day Without Immigrants".

Keep them off our roads, out of our hospitals, out of our grocery stores, get them out of our jails, prisons, courts, out of our housing, out of our schools? Get them off our border, out of detention centers, out of our pockets? Off our Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, TANF, Section 8 Housing, not provide lawyers, no law suit payouts? No protesting and mouthing off in our streets. Cut off all foreign aid?

I look forward to Law and Order, Peace, and deporting every last one of them.

I hope they start their boycott at Walmart. That way more Americans will shop there and the store will look like America instead of Tijuana.

As we know, illegals are covering by GOP too...look onto them and their businesses ,family business etc...illegal work is ilegal, but deportation or bashing business owners isn't on the table..why..?
ICE go against workers,if someone call them....but in a few days,they are out..jails don't have room for low crime....so they call them see you in the court...but...haha, never happen...low wage workers are protected by both parties....

They're catching on that the Messican flag just pisses us off more. I'm sorry, illegals always are quick to say how much they pay into the economy, but NEVER comment on how much they spend is our tax dollars they can't wait to sign up for. I personally believe they get much more than they pay in... otherwise how can they send BILLIONS in remittances back home?

We don't want them waving our flag. They aren't Americans, our flag is not their flag. GRRRRR!!!!

You just need to go home and protest in your own countries and wave your own flags there.
