TUSD to issue report cards in both English, Spanish
    KONSTANTINOS KALAITZIDIS

The Tucson Unified School District will now print its middle and high school report cards in Spanish and English.
It is a "service we want to provide to our Spanish-speaking parents," said Chryl Lander, TUSD's communications department director.
"We've had many requests for this service, probably because we've been providing report cards (in Spanish) to our elementary schools for a number of years. Now we are able to do it for high and middle school students," she said.
Parents will also be able to access their children's grades online in Spanish and English.

What about the legal immigrant parents who speak Polish, Russian, Chinese, Hindi, Tagalog, etc. If government is going to accomodate non-English speaking patrons, it should give equal access to all, irregardless of what their language is. The English/Spanish only approach is biased, primarily against non hispanic immigrants. The difference is, of course, most of the immigrants who come legally do make a real effort a learning English and don't expect special treatment.

How much more can we take...
Toto I am sure we are not in Kansas or America anymore.
Never look at another flag. Remember, that behind Government, there is your country, and that you belong to her as you do belong to your own mother. Stand by her as you would stand by your own mother
