The following is a news release from the Westchester County Police Dept.
THURSDAY, NOV. 17 – 10:22 a.m. – Segundo Chumaina-Alvarez, 41, of Newark, N.J. was arrested on Route 9A southbound at Route 133 after a traffic stop revealed that he was the subject of an active Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant for illegally gaining re-entrance to the country, a felony. Chumaina-Alvarez was stopped by Westchester County Police Officer Rob Kelly for operating a van with expired North Carolina license plates. A license check determined that he was wanted by ICE for entering the United States after being deported approximately 12 years ago. He was turned over to Immigration agents and again faces deportation.

The IA huggers are all of the opinion that illegal re-entry should no longer be considered as a felony but as a civil offense the same as the first illegal entry.
