Holding border security hostage
The immigration-reform speech President Bush delivered this week raises the question of whether he will hold the security of our borders hostage until Congress enacts what he calls a "temporary worker" program.
Speaking in Arizona more than four years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Bush proposed a series of long-overdue measures designed to prevent masses of unknown persons from swarming across our frontiers and living in our country, illegally, with impunity. "Securing our border is essential to securing the homeland," he said -- leaving one to wonder why he waited so long to make it a priority.

The only fault I can find with this article is that even the people who supposedly "have" health insurance through good paying jobs pay through the nose for it. Employers don't pay for people's health insurance anymore. Anyone who makes 50 grand a year pays at least 10 grand out in health care insurance premiums, you can be sure of that.
But there is no doubt that the President and whoever is doing his thinking for him these days have crafted his speech to say that the border isn't going to be secured until they get their own way.
What a shame! And what a SHAM, this entity we call the US Government!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

And what if they don't get their way? Then what? Nothing serious is ever done ?Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

You are right, LegalUSCitizen. Nothing serious is ever done.
And that was the point of the President's speech. He knows that the cart has got to follow the horse so he puts it backwards just to be sure nothing is going to get done. Globalists like him aren't going to get their way if the voting population get theirs and so he's going to make sure that as long as he's holding the steering wheel nobody's going to do anything so that he can turn it all around and blame it on someone else just like he has done from the day he took office.
And did you notice how many times he mentions "Congress" when he talks about anything? Don't you know it is all someone else's fault--always? LOLJoin our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

If congress is really serious about this...which I doubt...the president has to surrender. Congress can override his veto.

Roadrunner, you are right. And either way, it is going to be someone else's fault. I have this feeling that the President led a pretty sheltered life, don't you?
