BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Congressional staff members are finalizing a House subcommittee briefing on border violence scheduled for July 20 in Brownsville.

The event will be hosted and led by Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas.

Poe spokeswoman Shaylyn Hynes said Friday that the list was still being finalized of witnesses to speak to the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. However, confirmed witnesses include Zapata County Sheriff Sigi Gonzalez and Tiffany Hartley, widow of David Hartley. He was an American tourist presumably gunned down on the Mexican side of Falcon Lake in 2010.

Also to testify was Immigration and Customs Enforcement Acting Deputy Associate Director Janice Ayala.

Hynes said the event venue has not been determined.
