Thread: Houston mother of 5 murdered by Undocumented Latino.

Local Channel 13 news just reported an arrest in the case of a Houston mother of five, who was stabbed to death during a car jacking attempt. Her 4 month old daughter was in the car and the mother fought back.

The Breaking news is that the get away driver has been arrested, and is being quaranteed because he has TB. The killer, named Timoteo Rios, has a criminal record, is in the country illegally, and is believed to be heading to Mexico. (Where he will be protected from the Texas Death Penalty if apprehended.)

Another case of illegal criminals being released back onto our streets to kill. Five children lost their mother due to illegal immigration.

HOUSTON -- An arrest has been made in the brutal carjacking that resulted in the stabbing death of a mother of five. Harris County Sheriff’s investigators said they arrested one suspect in the murder of Tina Davila and charges have been filed against an illegal immigrant they say stabbed the woman several times.

Davila was walking into a mobile phone store in northeast Harris County Wednesday afternoon when a man grabbed her keys in an attempt to steal her car. Davila, whose 4-month-old daughter was still in the car, fought the would-be carjacker.

In the struggle, the man repeatedly stabbed Davila before making a getaway in a waiting car driven by an accomplice. The whole brutal attack was captured by the mobile phone store’s security cameras.

Investigators said too that the assailant was caught in security video stealing beer from a convenience store not long before the attack at the mobile phone store.

Early Friday morning, the sheriff’s office arrested a man at his southwest Houston residence. Investigators said the man in custody was the driver of a stolen gold Taurus used as the getaway vehicle in the attack on Davila.

The sheriff’s office said that during a confession the driver identified Timoteo Rios, 24 – who is also an illegal immigrant from Mexico -- as the man who attacked Davila. Murder charges have been filed against Rios, who investigators said they are looking for.

Sheriff spokesman Lt. John Denholm said the men had a pattern of carjacking woman at knifepoint in front of businesses.

Denholm said the driver in the Davila case, who has not yet been charged with a crime, is believed to have carjacked a woman in northeast Harris County on Tuesday. Rios is also a suspect in a carjacking that occurred in southwest Houston earlier in the day Wednesday.

That carjacking involved a gold Ford Taurus that was used in the attack on Davila later in the day said Denholm.

Suspect arrested in Houston mom's carjacking death

Surveillance video has led to the capture of one of two men authorities said participated in a violent attempted carjacking that left a woman dead after she struggled to keep them from driving away in an SUV with her 4-month-old daughter inside.

The name of the man, who police have identified as the driver of the getaway car, was not released. Charges are pending, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

Meanwhile, deputies have released the name of the suspect who they said stabbed 39-year-old Tina Davila to death in front of a Cricket store in the 5600 block of Uvalde on Wednesday evening.

Timotheo Rios, 24, is an illegal immigrant from Mexico, said Lt. John Denholm, a Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Late Friday afternoon investigators said they feared he was on his way to the border.

"We're just hoping to get him before he crosses the border," said Lt. John Denholm, adding that the vehicle has not been recovered.

The pair has been involved in several carjacking incidents, Denholm said.

Once arrested, Denholm said Rios will likely face "murder if not capital murder charges" in Davila's slaying.

Surveillance video from the cell phone store shows a man in a gold-colored Ford Taurus pulling up beside Davila almost immediately after she parked her Chrysler Aspen outside the shopping center around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators believe the fatal carjacking was probably a spur-of-the-moment crime.

The video shows the man lunging for her car keys, then moving back toward the Ford sedan, with Davila following after him.

"She was yelling, 'My baby. My baby.' That's why she wouldn't give up the car," said Denholm in an interview earlier this week.

Authorities said the men were identified by someone who saw the video and contacted authorities.

While the video was hard for the public to watch, Denhold said authorities had no choice.

"It's a tough deal, if you don't put the video out you can't identify them," Denholm said. "It's a no-win situation."
