FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A bill aimed at deterring government contractors from hiring undocumented workers has passed the Kentucky House.

The proposal would require contractors with state and local governments and school districts to participate in federal employment verification programs.

The bill passed the House 93-3 Wednesday and now goes to the Senate.

Rep. Bob Damron, the bill's lead sponsor, said contractors caught violating the measure could be prohibited from winning government contracts for five years.

The legislation is House Bill 321.

This sounds great if it is enforced with Heavy Fines and Felony Jail Time for the ILLEGAL EMPLOYERS and the ILLEGALS!

Employers caught hiring illegals should be banned for ten years, not five. And they should have to pay a big fat fine on top of it. Jail time would also be good.
