This is purely eye candy. Being that Obama and Homeland Sec. which ICE is under, no longer deports most illegal aliens due to Obama's nazi executive order, if 2,900 were arrested then maybe five will be deported. Now we have 30,000 plus U-Visas handed out to illegal aliens in the last few months-so really, this entire raid business is for show.

They rounded these criminals up to deport them.
The only ones in the group who won't be deported are the ones who have state or federal charges and will be sent to court and then on to prisons, and deported upon release form prison.

Is this a preamble to an impending amnesty so that only those without criminal records get a path to citizenship? OR, is this a clean-up effort to get rid of hardcore criminals first and then deport the others?

I think that the millions of illegals that are just working and not causing trouble will get stay.

2900 means they hit 3 TacoBells and 4 construction sites. We need to do full all out sweeps and to hell with Obama's back door amnesty policy. No documentation the you get arrested and your tail gets shipped back to the border.
