Twelve Mexican citizens unlawfully present in the United States in and near Lebanon County were arrested on Thursday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials said.
The arrests stemmed from "targeted enforcement operations" in Palmyra, Manheim, Lebanon and Wernersville that were conducted by ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations units, according to an ICE statement.
The Lebanon Daily News asked an ICE Philadelphia public affairs officer whether it had detained people at A&M Pizza locations in Lebanon after receiving a tip on Thursday.
The officer provided a statement about the 12 arrests in response. However, the statement, attributed to ICE officials, did not specifically reference A&M Pizza.
More: Immigrant families housed for years in Berks County, Pa.
A&M Pizza has locations in Lebanon, Wernersville, Manheim and Campbelltown.
A manager at A&M Pizza's Quentin Road location said he did not have any comment.
Lebanon County Correctional Facility Warden Robert Karnes said Friday morning that the prison is holding three inmates with active ICE detainers on file.
"U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation officers do not conduct sweeps or raids that target aliens indiscriminately. ICE’s enforcement actions are targeted and lead driven," the statement from ICE officials said. "ICE conducts targeted immigration enforcement in compliance with federal law and agency policy. All enforcement activities are conducted with the same level of professionalism and respect that ICE officers exhibit every day."
Coincidentally also on Thursday, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Pro Publica published the results of a joint investigation regarding the Philadelphia ICE field office.
The investigation found that the Philadelphia office arrests a higher percentage of immigrants without a criminal conviction than any other ICE region, at 64 percent.

They are all over the place. this never used to be allowed. The only way to solve it is to deport them all, E-verify every job and emphasize/enforce the penalties for aiding and abetting, of course close the border too - no more asylums, drone surveillance with manpower backup every inch of the border. Oh and clarify children must have one citizen parent to quality for birthright citizenship.
This entire change in our system, no enforcement of immigration laws, is gov't sanctioned, otherwise would not be happening the last 12 yrs. Look at all the manpower, court systems eating up $$$$$ for people that should not be here - really takeover numbers of intruders allowed to live, work use our social services, costs of imprisonment to the tune of 25% of federal prisoners and breed for free. 100 here, 30 there is like having a cockroach infestation and using your pointed shoes to kill them one at a time. Forget @ it, get them all out and let them apply from their own countries. Their kids have citizenship there legitimately.Last edited by artist; 04-13-2018 at 09:52 PM.
