Feb. 20, 2014 – NATIVE Task Force shuts down smuggling ring operating on Arizona tribal land
Tribal authorities announced Thursday that a new joint tribal and federal task force has taken down a large-scale drug and human smuggling ring operating on the Tohono O'odham Nation, indicting the ring leader and 15 others in state court following a two-month investigation. Full Story

Worldwide Drug Trafficker Sentenced
FEB 20 (SACRAMENTO, CALIF.)
Shiraz Malik, 36, a Pakistani national residing in Warsaw, Poland, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Lawrence K. Karlton to 15 years in prison for conspiring to distribute controlled substances and listed chemicals, conspiring to import controlled substances and ephedrine into the United States, and conspiring to launder money.
