Jan. 24, 2013 – ICE El Paso removes Mexican fugitive wanted for 1998 murder of Dutch woman

A fugitive criminal alien, who is wanted for murdering a Dutch national in Mexico 16 years ago, was deported Jan. 24 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers. Full Story

Jan. 21, 2014 – HSI returns $1.5 million work of art to Harvard nearly 35 years after theft

ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) returned an 18th century Qing Dynasty Jade Censer to the Harvard Art Museums, Harvard University Jan. 21, more than 30 years after the artifact was stolen. Full Story

Jan. 21, 2014 – ICE removes Ecuadorian national wanted for quadruple murder

An Ecuadorian national wanted on multiple murder charges in his home country was removed from the United States Jan. 17 by officers with ERO to face charges. Full Story

Jan. 22, 2014 – Paraguay signs agreement to improve information exchange regarding child pornography investigations

A new international agreement was signed Jan. 22 by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Paraguayan Attorney General's Office to streamline information sharing regarding suspected child pornography. The agreement was facilitated by ICE under a joint NCMEC-ICE initiative called Operation Guardian Knight. Full Story

Jan. 23, 2014 – ICE deports Polish murder suspect found living in Chicago area

A Polish murder suspect, who fled to the Chicago area to evade prosecution in his home country, was deported Jan. 23 by ERO officers and turned over to Polish law enforcement authorities in Warsaw, Poland. Full Story

Colombian Narcotics Kingpin Pleads Guilty to Decades-Long Drug Trafficking Charges
JAN 24 (MIAMI)
Mark R. Trouville, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Miami Field Division, Wifredo A. Ferrer, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and Michael B. Steinbach, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Miami Field Office, announce the guilty plea of Diego Perez Henao, a/k/a "Diego Rastrojo," 42. Perez Henao, a Colombian national and a U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)-designated Specially Designated Narcotics Trafficker (SDNT), pled guilty today to the one-count indictment charging him with participating in a decades-long conspiracy to manufacture and distribute five or more kilograms of cocaine knowing that the cocaine would be unlawfully imported into the United States.

Phoenix, Ariz. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection agriculture specialists assigned to the Tucson Field Office seized a box of raw bird eggs last Wednesday. CBP officers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport referred a passenger on an international flight from Kenya via London for an intensive agriculture inspection upon arrival. (more)

CBP Seizes 143 Pounds of Marijuana at Presidio Port of Entry

Presidio, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Presidio port of entry seized 143 pounds of marijuana Saturday. The drugs were concealed in the ceiling of a vehicle. The seized marijuana has an estimated street value of $114,400. (more)

Hidalgo/Pharr, Texas - Officers with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), at the Hidalgo and Pharr International Bridges seized heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine valued at approximately $3,408,000 in three separate, unrelated incidents.
