April 30, 2015 – Human trafficking fugitive on ICE’s top 10 list arrested in Mexico
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Mexican Federal Police announced Thursday the capture of one of ICE’s top 10 most wanted human traffickers. Paulino Ramirez-Granados was arrested March 31 in Tenancingo, Mexico, following a joint investigation between ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Mexico City, HSI New York and the Mexican Federal Police. April 17, 2015 – Houston woman sentenced to a year in prison for selling counterfeit batteries
A Houston woman pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for her part in a conspiracy to sell counterfeit Samsung batteries. Full Story
April 30, 2015 – ICE joins Instagram

April 27, 2015 – Georgia man sentenced to 35 years for drug trafficking
A 35-year-old man from Alpharetta, Georgia, was sentenced April 27 to 420 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and one kilogram or more of heroin. This case was investigated by HSI.Full Story
April 28, 2015 – ICE removes Guatemalan man charged with murder
A 24-year-old Guatemalan man wanted on murder charges in his home country was removed to Guatemala April 24 by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers in New York. Full Story

APR 30 (WASHINGTON)
DEA Special Agent Joseph Piersante today became the first-ever member of DEA to receive the Secretary of Defense Medal for the Defense of Freedom. Piersante was struck by enemy gun fire while on a counter-terrorism and narcotics mission in Afghanistan in 2011.

On March 20, the U.S. Coast Guard encountered Nash on board a 26-foot vessel attempting to enter the country illegally. Nash was detained, processed by Border Patrol and subsequently transferred to ICE custody for his removal.

Akbar Ahmad Sherzai, 50, of Centerville, Virginia, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bribery. Sherzai offered to bribe a U.S. Army serviceman to falsify documents to reflect the successful delivery of fuel shipments that Army records indicate were never delivered.
