Identity Theft by Illegal Immigrants a Growing Problem Locally

(WSBT) Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in the country. What's also growing is the number of illegal immigrants using fake identities to get jobs. Some local cities, including Elkhart and Goshen, have devoted detectives full-time to the issue.

As the number of victims of identity theft grows, more people are living a nightmare.

A Frozen Life

Carlos Hernandez of Three Rivers says somewhere at some time, someone stole his identity. And it's happened more than once.

"I did find out one time that there was a guy with insurance on a car in my name, I think it was some part of Virginia,â€

Wonder what La Raza's position is on this? Illegal hispanics stealing from citizen hispanics? They should be helping CITIZENS, not the aliens.

Another side of this issue is that the alien parents use the social security numbers of their anchor babies. You would think the SSA would know it's a scam when an infant is earning money. These anchors will have an overinflated paycheck when they hit retirement age, IF there's any money left in SSA that is.

Enforce the damn laws!

These people don't give a damn who they hurt. Sure, they want a "better life for their children" blah blah blah...but the very fact that they're willing to completely ruin an innocent American citizen's life by stealing their identity, just makes me livid.

This is one of the primary reasons I have NO sympathy or compassion for these criminal illegal aliens. Where is their sympathy and compassion for us? They wreak havoc on people's lives when they use their identities, and they don't care one bit. All they care about is themselves and their massive numbers of children that they so irresponsibly give birth to.

The identity theft aspect of illegal immigration is one that really angers me. I've said this again and again....if you can't afford to provide for your children, then DON'T HAVE THEM!!! Because stealing from other people is NOT okay, even if your children are starving (which, based on the obesity rate of Hispanic children, doesn't seem to be a concern).

I've read of cases of stolen SSN's that took hundreds of hours of complicated work to resolve. And one must continue to make a living and pay the bills while straightening out the problem. It's like working an extra full-time job. There must be plenty of cases that never do get resolved. How many Americans are simply falling through the cracks now, having had their lives destroyed by the invaders?

The receptionist at my Drs office was telling me a few days ago that someone in Florida has taken her identity. I asked her if she reported it to the police. She said her husband wants her to, but her particular thief has raised her credit score by over 100 points. I told her that she still needed to turn this lady in.
