IL: Chicago May Day 2008
Last week or so I stumbled across two google groups where some of the organizers for the Chicago May Day rally hang out and swap information about this up and coming May1st.
Most of it is piece-meal with a lot needing to go trough google translator at which time I’ll post anything the makes any sense.
I have been sharing the earlier information with another local ALIPAC’er, which did have some useful items for that person in their community. (I’ll let them talk about if they want to)
Below is something I found today; it’s a copy of the Meeting Minutes to an April 12th meeting they had. I thought you might find it of interest!

it's raw copy / paste (just as I foud it)

INFORMATION ON MAY 1st MARCH
Everyone should know that there are various groups and organizations working to get people on out on May 1st. The largest coalition is the March 10th Coalition, which has as members over 100 organizations, unions, and groups as part of it. The webiste is http://www.movimiento10demarzo.org/, and the myspace (in progress) is http://profile.myspace.com/march10movement . It was through a meeting during the March 8th and 9th conference organized by the March 10th Coalition that this student group was planned and conceived. Centro Sin Fronteras is also organizing people to come out, and the youth-led group Zocalo Urbano, is doing branch of Centro Sin Fronteras that is doing youth outreach and organizing. Their website is www.chicagomayday.com. This explanation is not meant to be divisive, but I thought it might be important for everyone to understand this context, and know why there are 2 fliers being promoted, and why there may be differing information on what is happening on
that day.
The basic information about the march is:
LEGALIZATION FOR ALL: MARCH MAY 1st 2008
For the rights of all immigrants and all workers
We demand:
All rights in the workplace for all workers, and the right to unionize
Fair wages
Equal access to education
Universal Healthcare
End the occupation of Iraq
MEET AT 10:00 AM, UNION PARK (Ashland & Lake), MARCH AT 12:00 PM
Information at: 1-888-DIGNIDAD (344-6432)
ORGANIZING MEETINGS:
March 10th Movement meets Tuesdays, 6:30 PM at EU Hall at 37 South Ashland (Ashlad/ Ogden)
DISCUSSION POINTS, AGREEMENTS & NEXT STEPS
It is important for youth to organize for May 1st, inform students around us, and inform, educate, and outreach to the community and schools.
>> Next steps: Everyone took flyers to pass out at their schools and communities. It was proposed that we also organize a flyering day, either at specific schools (such as Juarez, Senn, Kelly, Cicero), as well as on specific days in the community (perhaps in Little Village, Pilsen, Cicero).
I would propose that for the next meeting we all come with proposals with specific dates, and times for passing out flyers – and commit to being the contact person for that day.

Some interesting point;
The location of this meeting just called EU, well EU stands for Electricians Union. They are meeting at the Union Hall. If there are any Union Electricians here at ALIPAC, take note that your fellow union brothers are selling you out. Maybe you can put some pressure on your local union and get the national union to put a stop to this?

Elected Officials Roll Call
Cook County Commissioner
Roberto Maldonado
"has led a coalition of Hispanic elected officials in support of comprehensive immigration reform and Sanctuary for immigrants"
March 31, 2008
Dear Fellow Latino Elected Officials,
On May 1, 2008 I will be marching with community leaders in a May Day March and Rally to support some of the most basic issues of fairness, equality, and justice facing our communities and the working people of our constituencies that we represent, including fighting for the rights of immigrants and calling for an end to the war in Iraq.
Many of you have advocated and marched for these issues in the past and felt the pain of those who have been separated from their loved ones because of the war or the broken immigration system. We need your help to keep the spotlight on these issues and continue the fight. Therefore, I am requesting both your endorsement and participation in the May Day March and Rally on Thursday, May 1, 2008. The March begins at 12:00 p.m. at Union Park (Ashland & Lake) and ends at Federal Plaza (Dearborn & Jackson) for the Rally at 1:30 p.m. I have enclosed a flyer for more information.
You may endorse the May Day March right now by visiting chicagomayday.com and clicking on Elected Officials Roll Call. If you plan to participate on the day of the event, please call my office at 312-603-6386 so you will receive formal recognition at the rally.
Thank you for your leadership and I hope to see you on May 1 to continue the fight for fairness, equality, and justice.
Sincerely,
Roberto Maldonado

I have a big problem with these anarchist, leftist organizations recruiting the students with the assistance of the Chicago Public Schools and recruiting public school students to be their minions for this illegal alien demand parade under the guise of "service hours"....I have a big problem with Cook County Commissioner Roberto Maldonado being at the march during taxpayer paid time when he is supposed to be working for the citizens and legal residents of Cook County. Advocating for laws to benefit illegal aliens is not part of his job description and that was not what he was elected to do....throw him out of office.

Thanks Cvangel,
I seen that one last week but did get around posting it.
I see your from California, I bet you see another major city falling, just as LA did?
It gets worst; here is an updated endorsement list from their google group.
Take notice of the number of socialist / communist groups that our city and county officials are willing to fall in line with. Also the number of City of Chicago offices. The Mayor is giving the illegal and communists (and other radical groups the city on a silver platter.
I am afraid that this is our last summer, if ICE doesn’t help Chicago, all is lost!
Legalatina
We would love to throw them out of office, but as it turned out we no longer have the votes.

This list of endorsements, supporters needs to be sent to Fox, Dobbs, etc. and all the radio talk show hosts...Chicago is the new ground zero for the pro-open borders/socialist-run pro-illegal alien cartel.

Il: Chicago
Illegal Immigration is ORGANIZED CRIME. How can city officials publicly support criminal activity?
1. Human trafficing is illegal, victims tell horror stories of being raped, left for dead, being held for ransom. And does anyone think the smugglers pay taxes on the millions made bringing people here illegally?
2. Identity Theft is a crime. How many of the workers arrested this year in workplace raids used false or stolen Social Security numbers or Green Cards. Again, does anyone believe that the counterfeiters of these work documents pay ANY income tax on the millions they make.
3. Tax Evasion is a crime. How many of the eight million Social Security no-match letters belong to people who never file a tax return? If there are 12 million illegal workers and only 2 million file tax returns with an ITIN number--why doesn't the IRS go after the other 10 million? Have ANY of the people with no-match numbers been audited?
4. Voter fraud is a crime. Why can't we require proof of citizenship to register to vote? Has anyone ever checked the names of the recently deported to see if they were registered to vote? Why not?
These are just a few reasons that illegal immigrants should be prosecuted--NOT LEGALIZED. Can someone please explain how giving amnesty to thieves and criminals will help solve the illegal immigration problem in America?
