Illegal Alien Employer Wants $5 Billion More Taxpayer Dollars

WTOP is reporting on the arrest by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement of 42 illegal aliens reporting to their jobs working within the sensitive areas of Dulles International Airport. This follows on the heels of the arrest of 18 illegal aliens inside Quantico Marine Corps Base in January of 2007, and the arrest of fifty more illegal aliens working on the construction of a federal courthouse in Richmond on May of this year, which really raises the question of whether our federal government itself has much interest at all in being a responsible employer. Between the Federal Aviation Administration which regulates projects at Dulles Airport and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Metropoliton Washington Airport Authority that operates the airport, their collective interest in ensuring the lawful execution of public contracts leaves a lot to be desired.

WMATA MWAA is the same entity that is going to be showered with billions of taxpayer dollars in order to extend metrorail to Dulles Airport, but they can’t even conduct background checks on personnel who have access to the flight line at Dulles Airport while they ensure that everyone who doesn’t have access to the flight line gets intimately inspected to make sure that their shoes meet muster and they’re not carrying nail scissors or containers of breast milk. If WMATA MWAA and the federal transportation folks couldn’t even bother to figure out who was legally allowed to work, you can be darned sure they never bothered to figure out whether anyone was a potential national security risk. With a significant number of illegal aliens involved in gangs with nacrotrafficking and ties to terrorist organizations, the overlap between illegal aliens and national security risks is pretty significant. But let’s give these folks a few more billion dollars so they can continue to employ unscreened persons, including illegal aliens, in federal transportation projects.

CASA de Maryland is without a doubt going to soon post bail for these illegal aliens using a combination of Maryland taxpayer dollars along with money received from Citgo Oil (which is under the control of Hugo Chavez), all the time decrying how these illegal aliens are suffering so terribly because the consequences of their unlawful behavior are finally coming to bear. TSA will continue to closely inspect old ladies waiting to board airplanes, and no one will bother to ensure that contract employees working on sensitive federally-funded construction projects are legally allowed to work and are not security risks.

Government is one of the largest, if not the single largest employer of illegal aliens in the United States. Since government employees cannot be held criminally liable for unlawfully employing illegal aliens in the same way that provate sector employers occasionally are, there’s little doubt these outrages will contine notwithstanding the somewhat recent executive order requiring government contractors to use E-Verify. Despite that contract requirement, not only have illegal aliens been working on federal projects, but they’ve been allowed access to the secure areas of our nation’s airports.

Five billion dollars for MWAA? I think they’ve pretty much proven they can’t competently manage the funds they presently have.
